Job Summary

Kitchen Manager Luxury Lodge Hazyview

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and driven Kitchen Manager for a luxury lodge based in Hazyview. This role is ideal for a senior culinary professional with an Executive Chef mindset who is confident overseeing kitchen operations strategically rather than being hands-on in daily cooking.

Salary: R25000 per month

Key Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

Relevant culinary qualification

Proven experience in a senior kitchen leadership role within a luxury lodge or hotel environment

Strong understanding of kitchen operations systems and workflow

Experience managing kitchen budgets and food cost controls

Solid knowledge of stock control and procurement processes

Skills and Competencies:

Executive Chef mentality with strong leadership capability

Ability to oversee and manage the kitchen without being operationally focused on cooking

Strong financial acumen and budget management skills

Excellent organisational and planning skills

Confident in implementing systems and maintaining standards

Strong team leadership and staff management abilities

High level of accountability and professionalism

Detail-oriented with a focus on efficiency and consistency

Key Responsibilities

Overseeing full kitchen operations and ensuring smooth daily functioning

Managing stock control ordering and supplier relationships

Monitoring and controlling food costs and kitchen budgets

Implementing and maintaining kitchen systems and standards

Supervising and leading the kitchen team

Ensuring compliance with health safety and hygiene regulations

Working closely with lodge management to align culinary operations with overall business objectives
