Job Summary

This role reports to the Clinical Service Manager of Childrens Mental Health.

Accountabilities:

  • Conduct assessments
  • Apply behavior management strategies; assist staff parents and teachers in understanding and the application of these approaches
  • Conduct groups and provide case management services for children and youth with complex needs

Qualifications :

  • Child and youth work diploma
  • Current member of Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counsellors
  • Undergraduate Degree in Psychology would be an asset
  • Two to three years current experience in child and adolescent mental health conducting behavioral assessments with children adolescents and families and responding to challenging behavior in a hospital/group home/classroom setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with other team members to develop and implement individualized treatment approaches for patients and families in the context of a milieu setting using evidence based approaches
  • Knowledge of the major disorders of childhood
  • Demonstrated ability to assist in modeling effective behavior management strategies
  • Experience in collaborating with teachers
  • Experience in developing and conducting therapeutic groups
  • Experience in providing case management services
  • Must be willing to work in secure open and day hospital settings

  • Computer proficiency
  • Excellent attendance punctuality and work record

Additional Information :

Hours: Currently Days 8 and 12 hour shifts including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Salary:
Minimum: $36.58 per hour
Maximum: $46.82 per hour
