Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Executive to join our Sales and Marketing team in Sofitel Brisbane Central. As a key player in our organisations growth strategy you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities developing strong client relationships and driving sales performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively identify qualify and convert new business opportunities through networking telemarketing and client engagement.
  • Manage and grow key accounts ensuring retention repeat business and maximized revenue through cross-selling and upselling hotel services.
  • Conduct appointments site inspections familiarisations and sales trips; represent the hotel at industry events trade shows and sporting functions.
  • Prepare proposals RFP responses and agreements; negotiate contracts within approved guidelines and ensure timely follow-ups to maximise conversion.
  • Work closely with Revenue Marketing and Operations teams to align sales strategy and ensure service excellence.
  • Monitor competitor activity market trends and emerging opportunities to inform strategic direction.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities accounts and opportunities in the hotels CRM; submit regular activity reports.
  • Maintain a visible and professional presence within the hotel supporting client engagement and adherence to brand standards.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience in business development event sales or key account management preferably within the hospitality or events industry
  • Strong knowledge of MICE Corporate Sporting and group business markets.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel and work outside standard business hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Results-driven with a proactive approach to business development.
