An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced regulatory engagement professional to join ASX within the Regulatory Engagement Team reporting to the Senior Manager BAU Governance and Reporting.

Working as a member of the Regulatory Engagement Team within Risk you will be required to build both internal and external stakeholder relationships with regulators and internal business groups across the ASX Executives and the Board.

Your Team

You will be part of the BAU arm of the central Regulatory Engagement Team within the Risk Division of ASX.

Your responsibilities

Governance and Reporting:

  • Maintaining and continuously improving the Executive and Board briefing templates ensuring key information is readily available for high-quality timely briefings on regulatory engagement matters.
  • Maintaining and continuously updating the Regulatory Coordination Panel meeting pack with meeting summaries from the wider Regulatory Engagement Team.
  • Maintaining a record of actions arising from regulatory meetings and a record of requests for information made under formal regulatory powers.
  • Collaborating with the Governance and Reporting team within the Risk Division to ensure timely and accurate contributions to ELT Board and CRO reports.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of new tools templates and processes to uplift the efficiency and reporting capability of the Regulatory Engagement Team.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance governance practices contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the team.
  • Contributing to the review and enhancement of regulatory engagement frameworks and related documentation ensuring updates are completed in line with the annual review cycle and governance standards.
  • Assisting with the ongoing monitoring and management of the Regulatory Engagement inbox ensuring all matters have been appropriately actioned.
  • Assisting to maintain the Regulatory Engagement Register within the risk management system ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.

Regulatory Engagement:

  • Supporting the Senior Managers in the BAU arm of the Regulatory Engagement team in planning and executing regulatory engagements including
    • preparing agendas meeting slide packs pre-briefings debriefings and drafting and circulating accurate meeting notes and action items to attendees;
    • driving timely engagement with regulatory agencies on BAU matters tracking and following up on actions arising from regulatory meetings to ensure completion within agreed regulatory timelines;
    • proactively engaging with regulatory agencies to understand their priorities address concerns and ensure ASX meets expectations for regulatory engagement; and
    • building and maintaining strong internal stakeholder relationships to enable seamless coordination and delivery of regulatory engagement activities;
  • Maintaining records of requests for information made under formal regulatory powers.

FSS Assessment:

  • Coordinating and supporting ASXs response to the Reserve Bank of Australias annual Financial Stability Standards assessment managing timelines stakeholder input and quality assurance of submissions.

Must have

  • Proven experience in regulatory engagement or regulatory affairs or direct experience working within a regulatory authority or organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and influence multiple stakeholders across complex cross-functional environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex regulatory concepts clearly and confidently to diverse audiences including senior executives regulators and technical subject matter experts.

Nice to have

  • Strong understanding of financial markets regulation with hands-on experience engaging with regulators in Australia and/or other international jurisdictions.
