2026 Summer Explore Kindergarten Transition Program
KINDERGARTEN PARAPROFESSIONALS
CAPUANO EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER
Job Goal: Summer programming at Capuano offers experiences for children with little to no prior preschool or kindergarten experience or who would benefit from summer programming as they transition to kindergarten or first grade.
During Summer Explore students learn readiness skills and make friends to support a smooth entry into kindergarten. They will have a daily routine that includes free breakfast and lunch learning in literacy and math time to play and extra fun activities. Parents can also get involved in activities to help connect what students learn at home and school.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as an Early Childhood/Elementary or ELL/SEI Paraprofessional and/or in supporting English language learners in school settings and/or experience working with young children.
- Ability to maintain a safe and healthy environment for young children.
- Ability to support bilingual/multicultural communication with diverse students and families preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with classroom teacher to support high-quality developmentally appropriate programming.
- Support childrens social emotional academic and physical needs.
- Build relationships with children that support learning.
- Support an inclusive classroom environment for all children.
- Participate in professional development before and during the program.
- Participate in set-up day and clean-up of classrooms on the final day.
Terms of Employment:
- Seasonal/Yearly Employment
- Location: Michael E. Capuano Early Childhood Center
- $25 per hour worked
- Mandatory Orientation and Professional Development Days: June 25-26
Program Schedule:
Monday thru Friday
Start Date: July 6 2026
End Date: July 31 2026
Regular Day: 8:00 am - 2:45 pm
Number of Positions: 6
Reports to: Director of Early Childhood Education & Director of Summer Explore Kindergarten Transition Program
