Reports To: Schools Out Program Administrator
Summary: Responsible for the development implementation and direct supervision of enrichment program staff and all other duties related to enrichment programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administers the operation of periodic enrichment workshops by:
- Planning coordinating and implementing a weekly schedule of activities to ensure a balanced program a welcoming environment and maintaining focus on the developmental needs and interests of all participants.
- Developing implementing and managing the site registration process and maintaining compliance with state regulations for afterschool programs.
- Plan and implement weekly/biweekly workshops that encourage creativity allow for skill development and expose children to new experiences.
- Submit plans to the Program Administrator.
- Supervising the daily work of assigned staff. Assisting in the preparation and delivery of training and annual evaluations of assigned staff.
- Managing (or assisting with) the programs fiscal responsibilities such as developing budgets tracking purchases and fee collection as well as approving timesheets for payroll.
- Keeping accurate records of attendance parental permissions and program offerings and activities.
- Providing direct supervision to students. Ensures guidelines for participation inclusion conduct and discipline are followed to maintain a safe enjoyable learning environment.
- Coordinating and supervising monthly field trips.
- Establishing and practicing emergency evacuation procedures no less than once a month
- Ensuring proper supervision of children is maintained at all times.
- Maintaining regular communications and professional relationships with supervisor staff participants parents/guardians volunteers and designated school administrators by:
- Preparing and publishing colorful and interesting flyers and newsletters to promote activities and provide pertinent enrichment offerings information with advanced notice.
- Providing regular reports and/or feedback to the Site Director and Program Administrator containing a summary of activities recommended actions needs concerns and success highlights. Reports incidents involving students and/or staff immediately to the Schools Out Program Administrator..
- Interacting with students staff parents and the school community in a constructive manner to create a positive welcoming learning environment.
- Attending monthly leadership meetings and other meetings as needed.
- Serving as a liaison and maintaining relationships with students school administrators parents/guardians volunteers and community members.
- Participating in public relations activities to promote the well-being of the program.
- Participates in training and professional development as determined appropriate by state regulations and the Schools Out Program Administrator.
- May perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to:
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises program specific staff. Is responsible for the daily operation of the enrichment program including the planning delivery and assessment of activities and the training and supervision of assigned staff. May assist with interviewing and hiring. Responsible for student supervision and problem resolution. All responsibilities are carried out in accordance with District policies and procedures and applicable laws. Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule. Demonstrated ongoing commitment to workplace diversity sustainability and delivering exceptional customer service.
Education and/or Experience: Experience in a leadership role with school-aged children and previous school employment preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities: An ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students staff and the community is essential. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form is required.
