About the role Purpose that counts
Our SEQ Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a Carpenter to join the team in our Qantas Drive depot on Brisbanes Northside on a fixed term fulltime basis until 30th of June 2026 (possibility for extension).
As a Carpenter you will be responsible for the maintenance and repairs to Queensland Rail Facilities assets (houses depots stations equipment rooms etc.) to the standard which ensures safe and reliable operation to compliance / legislative requirements maintenance and stakeholders standards.
Day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include
Work in a team environment (either individually or in a team) planning own work taking responsibility for work outcomes and identifying productivity improvements
Consult with management and stakeholders in making decisions directly effecting programmed work Facilities assets and customers requirements
Undertake work activities and create notifications using software applications
Ensure carpentry works are carried out in accordance with the Building Code of Australia National Construction Code Queensland Building Construction Code relevant standards and regulations

Hours and Salary Benefits that count
This role will require you to work day night and weekend shifts across a 2 week roster.
A Facilities Carpenter earns between $95000 - $115000 plus super working on the current roster. This includes the allowances and penalty rates for weekend and afternoon/night shifts. Overtime is also available.
Please note - there is an on-call requirement for this role. You will be required to be on-call for a period of 1 week every 5-9 weeks.

About you
Carpenters Trade Qualification
National Drivers License
Substantial level of knowledge of carpentry work in accordance with the Building Code of Australia National Construction Code and all relevant standards and regulations
Experience reading plans drawings and specifications
Sound level of skill in the use of electronic devices
Excellent communication skills with ability to establish and develop working relationships
Ability to be agile and highly adaptable to changing plans/ targets
