The Opportunity:

As the Assistant to the Vice Provost you will support the mission of Student Affairs by serving as a member of the senior leadership team. You will provide support of a substantial and confidential nature to the Vice Provost. This includes serving as the primary point of contact for the Vice Provost with both internal and external constituencies; assists and represents the Vice Provost in communicating with constituents; researches prioritizes and follows-up on multiple issues and concerns addressed to the office principal including those of a sensitive and/or confidential nature; manages a variety of special projects for the department Student Affairs Division Campus/University. Duties include but are not limited to providing comprehensive administrative support responsible for maintaining open communication and collaboration among internal and external constituents; project planning and management; research; event coordination; office management and strategic plan. This position is proactive takes initiative is efficiently responsive undertakes projects with little direction or guidance and analyzes and summarizes information for reports. Work and information handled is of a nature regularly requiring confidentiality and the exercise of discretion.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time (100% FTE) permanent position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement


Monthly Salary:

$4942.10 - $7569.55 Commensurate with experience and qualifications

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business administration or other relevant fieldANDfive (5) years of managing administrative support experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Computer software skills including the ability to use office software such as databases spreadsheets word processing.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of policies and procedures in a complex academic institution or similar complex organization.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including evening and occasional weekends.

  • Experience in handling personnel administration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional work experience in a higher education environment. Experience working in a fast paced high volume office setting.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide and diverse range of constituents including students staff faculty alumni and community members.
