Position: ESY Occupational Therapist

Department: Extended School Year - Summer 2026
Location: Hosmer Elementary School
Reports to: ESY Coordinators
Salary range: $42.00 Hourly
Dates: July 6-August 6 2026
Shift: 8:00 AM-12:00 PM Monday-Thursday
General Description:
The Extended School Year (ESY) offers specialized instruction and related services to students beyond the regular school year. Occupational Therapists in the Watertown Public Schools Extended School Year (ESY) program provide essential services to support students in developing fine motor visual motor/visual perception and sensory motor skills necessary for accessing their education. These services enable students to participate in school and community life to the greatest extent possible.
Responsibilities:
- Implement IEP goals through specific occupational therapy interventions focusing on improving mobility strength coordinationsensory needs and other motor skills.
- Work with students one-on-one or in small groups using a variety of therapeutic techniques exercises and activities.
- Adapt activities and environments to meet each students unique needs and abilities ensuring inclusivity.
- Assess students using appropriate testing instruments to determine their individual needs.
- Develop comprehensive reports that summarize evaluation results provide clear recommendations and align with each students educational goals.
- Conduct evaluations in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Deliver interventions focused on mobility strength coordination sensory integration and other motor skills to enhance students ability to participate in school activities.
Qualifications Required:
- Massachusetts License in Occupational Therapy
- Experience delivering services to preschool elementary and/or secondary preferred
- Holds the belief that all children can learn
- Classroom management experience
Preferred:
- CPR/First Aid Certification
