Summary:
The Payroll Compliance Specialist will report directly to the Payroll Supervisor and will be responsible for assisting with accurate and timely compensation payments to employees. Priority-1 specializes in consulting and managing domestic less than truckload and truckload operations for small to large shippers across North America.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collecting and verifying timekeeping information for all applicable employees
- Calculating compensation according to hours worked incorporating leaves and overtime
- Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Updating employee payroll records by entering changes in exemptions insurance coverage savings deductions and job title and department/division transfers.
- Conducting payroll audits and answering employee payroll inquiries
- Maintaining confidentiality and integrity of employee payroll information
- Other projects and tasks assigned
- Communicating with management on timekeeping anomalies.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in accounting
- 2 or more years of payroll experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical with a strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of Workday a plus
