A large and well-established secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a meticulous and organised HR & Compliance Officer to oversee recruitment processes safeguarding compliance and staff record management. This is a key role within the schools administrative structure and directly supports the schools commitment to safer recruitment and statutory compliance.
The successful candidate will ensure that all HR and safeguarding processes are robust audit-ready and fully compliant with current legislation and best practice.
Managing end-to-end recruitment processes including advertising shortlisting coordination and onboarding
Maintaining and auditing the Single Central Record to ensure 100% compliance
Verifying safeguarding documentation and employment checks
Coordinating reference requests and pre-employment clearances
Managing staff contracts amendments and personnel files
Supporting absence monitoring and HR reporting
Assisting with policy implementation and ensuring compliance with updated guidance
Preparing documentation for audits and inspections
Experience in HR administration or compliance ideally within a school setting
Strong knowledge of safeguarding requirements and safer recruitment practices
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Experience maintaining complex administrative records
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage confidential information appropriately
A calm and professional communication style
