Your Role
Mallee District Aboriginal Services (MDAS) is one of Victorias largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.
An opportunity to join us as a Senior Caseworker Childrens Cultural Care is available in our Home Based and Kinship Care team.
In this role you will be responsible for providinghigh quality case management for Aboriginal children and young people in accordance with DFFH standards the Best Interest Framework and MDAS policies.
This role also supports the Team Leader in the daily operations of the program ensuring staff are supported client needs are met reporting obligations are fulfilled and compliance with CRIS and CRISSP systems is maintained. The Senior Caseworker Childrens Cultural Care also provides leadership oversight of documentation and support to carers to ensure children are safe culturally support and able to thrive
This is permanent full time position based at our Mildura office location.
Key Selection Criteria
Sound understanding of the local Aboriginal community family dynamics child rearing practices and issues faced within the local community.
Demonstrated high level experience in the development implementation and evaluation of delivery of evidence based best practice care in a health setting
Capacity skills and experience working with and engaging children and young people who have experienced significant trauma and demonstrate emotional and behavioural dysregulation
Ability to take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services
Qualification/s:
Relevant qualification at Diploma level or higher with relevant experience or experience attained through previous appointments.
Other Screening Requirements:
Valid Drivers License that allows you to drive in Australia.
Victorian Employee Working with Children Check card.
National Police Check.
