Operations is a dynamic multi-faceted function that partners with all parts of the firm to provide banking securities and asset management services to clients around the addition Operations provides essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance the firms assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.

OUR IMPACT

The Asset & Wealth Management Segment is made up of Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) and Private Wealth Management (PWM) and brings together Goldman Sachs primary long term principal investing capabilities with the traditional money managing arm of the firm to offer a full suite of world-class investment solutions to the firms clients. Institutional Oversight (IO) team sits within Client Operations and has primary responsibility for all aspects of Institutional account on-boarding portfolio accounting cash management client reporting and serves as the single point of contact for all Operations related client inquiries. These functions cover a wide range of clients and a complex product range which include equities fixed income currency and derivatives. The group supports portfolio managers sales and client relationship professionals by providing accurate and timely client account information and overseeing all aspects of operational risk across portfolios. This involves extensive interaction with internal and external parties to ensure effective oversight for existing business and also to shape and implement solutions for new clients products strategies and system architecture. The group continues to focus on best in-class client experience and working closely with the business to maintain and enhance client relationships.

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSBILITIES

• Holistic ownership and understanding of Institutional client accounts from a GSAM Operations perspective by coordinating issues across all Operations teams and business partners and act as a point of contact for GSAM Operations
• Review and provide Oversight of account level metrics (i.e. post reconciliation resolve daily cash & position exceptions against custodians transfer agent review client managed collaterals & external manager reconciliations etc.) as defined by operating standards and research escalate re-mediate exceptions as appropriate.
• Coordinate and manage tasks such as cash-flow bookings security transfers overdrafts to ensure cash balances positions on client accounts are accurate to support trading activity.
• Monitor cash flows/transfer requests sent on behalf of clients and process within agreed SLA.
• Liaise with clients appointed counter parties (custodian transfer agents etc.) and respond to adhoc service requests and inquiries.
• Ensure accounting data accuracy (Cost reconciliations current face true-ups) and provide accounting policy oversight in order to create controlled environment for investment management process.
• Proactively review indicators of operational issues/concerns with the goal of resolving such issues before client impact by working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure timely instruction of external manager fee payments capital calls/distributions on a quarterly basis as agreed at the time of account launch.
• Partner across regional and global teams to drive forward synergies and streamline processes to enable positive client experience.
• Providing effective thought leadership in navigating evolving financial regulatory landscape and helping to develop technological low code solutions to build appropriate architecture.
• Apply process reengineering methodologies in executing strategies and tactical solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Word Excel and PowerPoint
• Be highly collaborative team-oriented and strong consensus builder.
• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and proficient in PowerPoint Word and other MS Office Suites
• Proven excellence in risk management and focus high attention to detail with a sense of urgency a must
• Ability to partner across product groups regions and functional responsibilities.
• Bachelors degree required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in Operations and/or Financial Services Industry preferably in Asset management. Relevant work experience of 3-4 years.
• Demonstrate ability to partner across Operations teams regions and functional responsibilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure.
• Risk management focus along with effective communication skills
• Ability to drive projects & daily BAU through execution with minimal oversight.
• Technically adept in working with Business Intelligence and low code tools such as Alteryx Tableau etc
