SCHOOL PRINCIPAL (Commencing September 2026)

At St. Boniface Diocesan High School we are called to assist in the Churchs mission of education. St. Boniface Diocesan High School seeks to serve students parents and the Catholic community by educating the whole person through quality education in a Christ-centered environment. Established in 1965 St. Boniface Diocesan High School is an English Roman Catholic high school in the Archdiocese of Saint Boniface. This co-ed diocesan high school offers strong academic and religious program to students in grades 9 12 with a variety of optional courses and extra-curricular programs. The school enjoys strong parental support active student involvement and a dedicated caring staff.

The School Principal is a leader who upholds traditional Catholic values models the faith with integrity and actively engages staff in shared decision-making and school improvement. You provide the overall educational leadership for the school by fostering an environment that nurtures Catholic faith formation supports academic excellence and ensures the schools vitality and long-term viability. You are also responsible for maintaining a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that encourages a genuine love of learning among all members of the school community. You ensure the effective operation of a Catholic education program by providing leadership in curriculum development and programming financial and personnel management student/teacher/program evaluations public relations planning safety facility maintenance and development.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Spiritual Leadership

  • Ensures Catholic faith doctrine and moral values are authentically and meaningfully integrated into all areas of school life.
  • Leads staff and student faith formation fostering a community grounded in the Gospel and the Churchs sacramental life.
  • Promotes and supports traditional forms of prayer and devotion (e.g. Mass Adoration Rosary liturgical celebrations).
Instructional and Academic Leadership
  • Provides leadership in curriculum development in general including the integration of Catholic Christian values.
  • Is a curriculum and technology visionary adept at inspiring teachers in the pursuit of educational excellence.
  • Effectively supports supervises and evaluates school staff and promotes student self-discipline responsibility and virtue.
  • Actively seeks staff input and creates structured opportunities for staff voice in school decision-making.
  • Encourages professional development based on shared planning and teacher feedback.
Operational and Financial Leadership
  • Provides leadership and oversight for school operations including the development management and monitoring of school budget with transparency and stewardship of resources.
  • Ensures effective human-resource management including delegation staff evaluation and performance expectations.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory legal and diocesan/board policies.
Communication and Community Engagement Leadership
  • Fosters strong relationships and ensures clear and collaborative communication with staff parents board members alumni other Catholic Schools stakeholders and the broader community.
  • Serves as the public representative of the school increasing awareness of its mission and strengthening its Catholic identity.
  • Supports enrollment growth fundraising and advancement initiatives through thoughtful communication community presence and strategic planning.
  • Works collaboratively with the school board providing transparent reporting professional recommendations and timely updates while respecting the boards governance role and supporting effective school stewardship.
Job Qualifications
  • Holds a Manitoba Professional Teachers Certificate
  • MB Level I or II Administrators Certificate (or equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of high school education leadership experience (may be a combination of teaching/administrative experience)
  • Active practicing Roman Catholic who demonstrates fidelity to the teachings of the Catholic Church and commitment to Catholic education
  • Leadership experience in faith-based educational environment
  • Proven strong and effective operational management skills including human resources financial oversight delegation monitoring and evaluating staff performance and overseeing administrative functions
  • Proven strong organizational written verbal and interpersonal skills that build and maintain relationships
  • Demonstrated success in building collaborative team-oriented work environments
  • Experience in effectively working with the board to progress the best interests of the school
  • Ability to mentor and guide staff and students in their academic professional and spiritual growth
  • Ability to seek receive and act on staff feedback as part of school improvement processes
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to develop and implement innovative programming;
  • Capable of leading strategic plans and special projects
  • Experience in growing student enrollment
