Come Work with Compass ELC: the role:

As an Educator at Compass ELC Victoria Graduateyoull join a team of passionate professionals dedicated to nurturing young minds. Your role involves engaging with children families and community partners to create enriching learning experiences. Youll work up to 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with flexible shift times within the programs hours (7am to 6pm). This contract has an anticipated end date of July 2026 and may extend to September 2026.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Plan and lead interest-based and play-based activities that reflect childrens unique interests to promote the physical cognitive emotional and social development of children.

  • Maintain active supervision with children while still being engaged in play.

  • Documenting childrens learning progress through observation reflection and research questions.

  • Create and maintain an environment that protects the health safety and well-being of children.

  • Assist the children with diapering dressing and eating habits.

  • Foster strong relationships with families and involve them in the learning process.

  • Collaborate with coworkers families and community partners to create a supportive environment.

  • Participate in team meetings professional learning opportunities and staff training opportunities.

  • Assist in housekeeping duties within the program.

  • Follow CELC CCEYA and Ministry of Education policies and procedures.

  • Paid Time Off - starting at 4% vacation accrued annually on hours worked and 4% personal sick time accrued annually on hours worked

Skills and Qualifications:

Requirements:


  • 1-3 years experience working/volunteering with children and youth.

  • Familiarity with the Child Care Early Years Act and licensing standards.

  • Valid certifications including Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check Standard First Aid and CPR Level C Updated immunization records.

  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators

    • OR; has a post-secondary degree in a similar field (i.e. Child and Youth Care Recreation and Leisure Social Service Work Bachelor of Education etc.)

    • OR; is interested in pursuing their ECE diploma.
