Short Description
The Clinical Nurse Manager applies knowledge leadership skills and clinical judgment to effectively support daily operations of the medical surgical unit. This role is to support the clinical nursing staff as a resource and will align with the organizations mission vision and strategic goals by fostering a culture of excellence safety and continuous improvement in patient care.
- Facilitate timely and appropriate bed assignments in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to optimize unit-based throughput ensuring fair safe and balanced clinical workloads using available data and technology.
- Support nursing-sensitive quality indicators (NDNQI) by promoting effective care coordination identifying and addressing gaps in care preventing potential errors from reaching the bedside.
- Serve as a mentor and role model by fostering a culture of innovation accountability and professional growth. Empower clinical staff to develop patient-centered solutions and practice to the full scope of their licensure through ongoing support and engagement.
- Optimize the use of clinical and operational resources to ensure safe high-quality and fiscally responsible care delivery. Promote sustainable practices and staffing efficiency to support patient outcomes and organizational goals.
- Partner with the Clinical Director to deliver timely constructive feedback and coaching that supports professional development promotes behavior aligned with organizational standards and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support patient experience and address patient concerns in real time escalate and provide service recovery as appropriate.
- May be required to take a patient care assignment if this support is necessary.
- The shifts are 12 hours to align with the shift of the nursing unit.

Overview
Kelemen North and South 9 is a two-sided seventy-six bed Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. Our staff care for a variety of patient populations including cardiac trauma gastrointestinal and psych.
To support our staff are Clinical Nurse Managers (CNMs) which help with patient care through put and assignments. Nurses who are staffed on Kelemen 9 are required to have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications which will allow competent and safe care for our complex patient populations.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting with 1 year of demonstrated leadership abilities.
- 3-5 years of experience preferred.
Education Requirements
- High School/GED required.
- Bachelors Degree required from an NLN accredited school of nursing.
License/Certification Requirements
- NJ-RN: Current NJ RN license.
- BLS from AHA required.
- ACLS from AHA required.
- CNL or AACN Specialty certification preferred.
Special Requirements
7pm-7am rotating weekends and holidays required.
