Are you passionate about making a difference in childrens healthWe are now recruiting for a full-time ongoing Philanthropy Executive to play a key role in the implementation of our Major Gifts program strategy.
Who we are
Founded in 1989 the Royal Childrens Hospital (RCH) Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Royal Childrens Hospital one of the worlds leading childrens hospitals. The RCH Foundation has the vital role of raising and distributing donated funds to the hospital enabling the very best patient and family care and support and saving and improving the lives of our sickest children. While a legally separate organisation the RCH Foundation works closely with the RCH in achieving its vision.
The Role
The Philanthropy Executive is one of three Philanthropy Executives that reports to the Manager Philanthropy in the Major Gifts space. The Philanthropy Executive works closely with the wider fundraising and crossdepartmental teams to achieve the implementation of the Major Gifts program strategy to meet budget including the management of key acquisition and stewardship activities across the campus and healthcare philanthropy.
About You
- You are purpose driven and committed to the mission and values of the RCH Foundation
- You have 3 years of proven success as a fundraising and philanthropy professional ideally working in a health or university setting or with a tertiary qualification.
- You have a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with donors/stakeholders.
- You have experience working in a complex fundraising environment with a strong understanding of philanthropy and the basic structures and motivations for giving. Ideally this includes organisational awareness and stakeholder management expertise.
- You have experience coordinating and delivering events and donor activities
- You have strong analytical skills and the ability to grasp and interpret complex information quickly.
- You have excellent communication and presentation skills including written and verbal communication.
- You have advanced computer literacy including the Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
- You are confident in your work but know when and how to consult others to keep work moving to achieve the best results and to avoid risk
- You have a commitment to personal development
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in major gifts fundraising with experience with gifts higher than $10000 in personal solicitations portfolio management and the preparation of proposals and reports.
- Proven ability to identify qualify and move donor prospects through the donor pipeline toward major gifts.
- Superb written and oral communication skills with experience communicating to a wide range of stakeholders including strong presentation skills and experience writing tailored donor proposals.
- Experience using donor/customer relationship databases (Salesforce preferred).
- Experience planning and delivering donor engagement events or activities that inspire giving.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and demonstrated success in dealing with donors including showing a high level of emotional intelligence and compassion.
- Demonstrated attention to detail working under own initiative to strict deadlines and managing accounts and projects simultaneously including strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in analysing donor data to support campaigns and projects.
- Willingness to learn new ways of working and systems.
- Demonstrated experience in achieving goals and KPIs both individually and collaboratively as part of a team.
- An enthusiastic energetic self-starter and self-motivated team player.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word Teams and Excel.
