Position: Special Education Summer Success Teacher
Position Type: Part-time Hourly
Department: Extended School Year - Summer 2026
Location: Hosmer Elementary School/WMS
Reports to: ESY Coordinators Student Services Directors and Assistant Director
Salary range: $42.00/hour: Teachers $34.00/hour: Unlicensed Teacher
Shift: 8:00 AM-12:00 PM Monday-Thursday
Dates: July 6- August 6th 2026
General Description:
The Extended School Year (ESY) offers specialized instruction and related services to students beyond the regular school year. The position involves leading program activities supervising instruction and ensuring IEP goals and accommodations are met through the Summer Success Program. Responsibilities include managing staff addressing parent and behavioral concerns monitoring student progress and collaborating with administrators to align the program with district your letter of interest please indicate which level/program you prefer.
Responsibilities:
- Teach groupings of special education students in grades K-12
- Conduct whole group and/or small group literacy lessons
- Conduct whole groups and/or small group Math lessons
- Follow related IEP Goals and Accommodations
- Teach age-related social skills and functional behavior
- Teaching is focused on the prevention of skill regression
- Progress monitoring and reporting
Qualifications Required:
- Experience working with elementary and/or Secondary preferred
- Experience collaborating with colleagues
- Experience reading IEPs
- Familiarity with best practices in literacy and math instruction
- Holds the belief that all children can learn
- Classroom management
- An ability to engage students in using all 4 domains: listening reading speaking and writing
- Attend pre-program training.
Preferred:
- Valid DESE licensure as Teacher of Students with Severe Disabilities or Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities preferred
- Experience working with students with a range of disabilities in a public school setting preferred
- CPR/First Aid Certification
