The Life-Safety Systems Division (LSSD) of the NYPD ensures the continuity maintenance and technical support of critical public safety communications electronic systems and broadband infrastructure to enhance the operational readiness of law enforcement and emergency response services. A core responsibility is enhancing and preserving the continuity and support of PSAC (Public Safety Answering Center) E-911 Systems including the Citywide Public Safety Communications Radio Infrastructure. This includes managing and supporting the IT systems for the Communications Section (911) and law enforcement personnel in the field.
By maintaining and enhancing the E-911 systems radio networks and broadband communications the LSSD directly supports NYPD officers emergency responders and city-wide coordination during incidents. Reliable communication facilitated by this division is critical for timely response coordination during emergencies and overall public safety and life summary the LSSD is a specialized technical division that ensures the NYPD s command and communication systems remain operational secure and capable of supporting field operations and emergency management across New York City.
The New York Police Department Is offering a career opportunity for the position of Deputy Director within the Life Safety Systems Division (L.S.S.D). Under the leadership and general direction of the Executive Director the Deputy Director is expected to oversee and manage the full project life cycle for the deployment of the New York City Police Department s planned new Computer Aided Dispatching System (PDCAD) and peripheral systems. Responsible for all aspects of systems design development implementation and support. Responsibilities included the design and Integration of CAD software applications with IT/Web/Mobile Data/Radio DBMS applications workstation configuration and peripheral interfaces.
