The New York City Mayors Office is responsible for overseeing city services throughout the five boroughs coordinating public agencies and departments and managing public property. The Team Youll Work With:
The Mayors Office of Mass Engagement (OME) is responsible for strategizing coordinating and executing on engagement that reaches the masses of everyday New Yorkers. We engage New Yorkers in shaping policy outcomes demystifying government and ensuring that the government remains accountable to serving the people of this great City. Our work is designed as a long-term project we are building the power of everyday New Yorkers and we are building a City that works for all of us.

The Problems Youll Solve:

The Deputy Borough Director will:
-Maintain key relationships and track high-level issues in the borough.
-Work with other staff to help identify and maintain organizing opportunities in the borough.
-Manage a team of people who are building layers of engagement throughout the borough.
-Attend relevant civic community board and community meetings.
-When relevant ensure there is follow-up on constituent cases.
-In emergency situations Borough Deputy Directors might be asked to be on the scene to represent the Mayors Office. Emergency situations include but are not limited to blackouts tragic deaths high-profile crimes fires where people are impacted and water main breaks or street collapses where people are evacuated from their homes.
-Coordinate with citywide liaisons to move Office of Mass Engagement initiatives forward with the borough team of organizers and specialists.
-Providing additional support as necessary.

Qualifications :

-Bachelors Degree required.
-3 years of experience.
