Reporting to the WHS Manager VIC you will step into a pivotal leadership role where your expertise directly shapes a safer future for our frontline heroes. As the Lead WHS Partner you will mentor and inspire a dedicated Victorian team serving as a high-level specialist on WHS legislation and complex safety programs. This is a unique opportunity to move beyond pure compliance and take a hands-on approach driving the strategic and operational evolution of St Vincents safety maturity
This is a Permanent Full-Time position based in our Melbourne Group Office on a hybrid working arrangement. A valid Drivers Licence and flexibility to work across multiple work sites is required for this role.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Lead and manage the Victorian WHS Partner team (3 direct reports)
- Provide expert WHS advice and technical support across all levels of the organisation
- Identify and implement initiatives to meet strategic objectives and improve risk mitigation controls
- Conduct audits gap analyses and investigations for significant incidents
- Foster collaborative relationships with HSRs WHS Committees and external regulators
- Develop safety work instructions guidance material and competency-based education programs
Things that work for us:
- Minimum 5 years experience in a WHS role ideally within a healthcare or similar complex industry
- Expert knowledge of WHS legislation codes standards and industry practices
- Diploma of WHS and a WHS Incident Investigation qualification (e.g. ICAM)
- Demonstrated ability to coach mentor and lead a team effectively
- Highly developed communication and conflict resolution skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects
- A valid Drivers Licence and the flexibility to work across multiple work sites
