Job Summary

Senior Research Officer

At the NSW Department of Education we educate and inspire lifelong learners from early childhood through schooling to vocational education and training.

  • Ongoing Full-Time
  • Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available
  • Clerk Grade 9/10 - $129464 to $142665 plus superannuation and leave loading

About the role

  • Lead research and evaluation design and data analysis to inform evidence-based leadership development across NSW public schools
  • Translate complex qualitative and quantitative evidence and data into clear insights briefs and high-impact advice
  • Partner with stakeholders to drive research projects share expertise and strengthen leadership outcomes

The Senior Research Officer co-designs and conducts research projects including the collection and analysis of data and evidence to inform the development of strategies that support the provision of world-class evidence-informed future-focused leadership development programs and initiatives in NSW public education.

  1. Collaboration and partner engagement are key to this role. Describe an example of how you built and maintained productive relationships with internal or external partners to support a research or evaluation project. (300 words)

Note: the selection process will include a range of assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role. Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.

As a condition of employment successful candidates not currently employed by the Department must provide a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance number. Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires as long as you remain in a nonchild-related role. Employer obligations only apply while the WWCC is valid.
