Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Pay: $27 $31 per hour
Location: Suffolk VA
Shift: 1st Shift Monday Thursday 7:00 AM 5:30 PM (4/10 schedule)
On-call as needed
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support facility operations in Suffolk VA. This role is responsible for general building maintenance preventative maintenance (PM) and corrective repairs to ensure a safe clean and professional work environment.
The ideal candidate has 35 years of hands-on facilities maintenance experience strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently in a structured safety-focused setting.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on building systems and equipment
Maintain a strict PM schedule and document completed work
Repair walls floors doors cabinets and perform painting and touch-up work
Perform plumbing repairs including unclogging toilets/urinals replacing valve assemblies and maintaining automatic flush sensors
Conduct exterior inspections of landscaping parking areas lighting and general grounds
Replace carpet tiles and complete minor facility upgrades
Build small wood items such as platforms monitor frames and shipping crates (woodworking experience preferred)
Assist with building automation adjustments and general facility operations
Coordinate with subcontractors when work is performed onsite
Attend weekly safety meetings and comply with all safety procedures
Qualifications
High School Diploma required
35 years of facility maintenance experience
Valid U.S. drivers license
Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain upon hire
Strong knowledge of HVAC basics (filter changes coil cleaning) plumbing and general building repairs
Ability to use woodworking tools such as table saws circular saws routers and drill presses (preferred)
Basic computer skills for work order documentation and email communication
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work four 10-hour shifts (MonThurs) and support on-call needs
