The opportunity

EY Parthenons Canberra Infrastructure Advisory (IA) team is a highimpact trusted advisor to government working on complex policy economic and strategic challenges that shape Australias longterm direction. As a Senior Consultant you will join a team with a strong market presence across international engagement and development transport energy and utilities sustainability and defence supporting government clients to make confident decisions on strategy policy reform investment and major transactions.

A defining feature of the Canberra IA team is its role in advancing Australias international engagement across the AsiaPacific contributing to highimpact infrastructure initiatives that strengthen communities drive sustainable longterm growth and reinforce Australias strategic partnerships in the region. This gives the teams work a unique international footprint and a meaningful sense of purpose.

In this role you will work closely with multidisciplinary experts to tackle complex issues and deliver insights that influence government decisionmaking. From leading analytical work to developing clear actionable advice for senior stakeholders the role provides a rare opportunity to rapidly grow your capability deepen your sector expertise and shape outcomes that matter nationally and internationally.

Your key responsibilities

• Provide clear evidencebased commercial economic and strategic policy advice.
• Produce wellstructured accessible reports and presentations.
• Build and apply analytical models to assess costs benefits and broader impacts.
• Support business development including preparation of highquality proposals.
• Assist in the management of client engagements and project delivery.
• Build strong relationships across EY and with clients and industry partners.
• Continue growing your professional offering technical skills and sector expertise.

Skills and attributes for success

• 34 years experience in a similar government or privatesector role.
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline for example finance accounting engineering economics law business administration or international relations.
• Strong analytical problemsolving and communication skills across quantitative and qualitative domains.
• Ability to work with datasets and build or interpret economic and financial models (e.g. costbenefit analysis impact assessments).
• Ability to translate complex analysis into actionable insights for nontechnical audiences.
• Experience advising government on strategic policy issues or strong interest in this work.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A positive proactive and collaborative mindset aligned with IA Canberras team culture.
• Willingness to support domestic and international government partners.
• Australian citizenship required for Federal Government security clearance.
