Overview and Purpose

Reporting to ASC Program Manager the Project Engineering Manager at Gulf Copper LLCis responsible forleading and overseeing various technical and project-related functions in naval architectureand marine engineering. The role requires both strategic and hands-on involvement in ship design regulatory compliance project coordination and cross-functional collaboration. The Project Engineering Manager plays a key role in ensuring that engineering deliverables align with industry standards client expectations contract requirements and organizationalobjectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This positionis responsible forthe following: Other duties may be assigned.

• Design & Engineering Oversight

• Lead and review ship designs structural calculations stability assessments and hydrodynamic analysis

• Developing building strategiesfor new construction

• Ensure designs meet classification society rules safety regulations and customer specifications.

• Optimizedesigns for efficiency performancebuildabilityand cost-effectiveness.

• Project Management & Coordination

• Manageand coordinatenaval architecturemarine engineering andother engineering disciplines (mechanical electrical structural).

• Oversee timelines budgets and resources for ship design and construction projects.

• Collaborate with production teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability of designs.

• Manage designerteams and coordinatesubcontracted efforts.

• Regulatory & Compliance Assurance

• Ensure compliance with IACS IMO SOLAS MARPOL and classification societies (e.g. ABS DNV Lloyds Register).

• Work with surveyors and regulatory bodies to obtain approvals and certifications.

• Problem-Solving & Technical Support

• Provideor obtain (as needed) expert advice on engineering and technicalissues

• Address design modifications and troubleshooting during the construction phase.

• Team Leadership & Development

• Mentor junior naval architects and engineers.

• Foster innovation and continuous improvement in ship design and construction processes.

• Client & Stakeholder Communication

• Act as the technical point of contact for clients shipowners and classification societies.

• Present design solutions feasibility studies and technical reports.

• Involvein repair project

• Reviewing the specification related to structure

• Preparing detail deign for repair project based on the approve functional drawing

Required Education & Experience:

1. Bachelors degreein Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering or Ocean Engineering.

1. Minimum ten (10) years experience in ship design and shipbuilding industry with technical knowledge of all stages of ship design (concept preliminary functional and detail design); experience leading design teams within an engineering design firm.

1. Experience with software like AutoCAD Rhino AVEVA Marine FEMtools.

1. Strong knowledge of ship designproductionengineeringtestingand validation.

1. Experience with ship design and production organizations.

Working Conditions:

1. Office and shipyard environments.

1. Occasional travel for program reviews or supplier coordination may berequired.

Necessary Equipment Operation:

1. MS Office (Outlook Word Excel Power Point etc.).

1. Ability to useCustomerSupplied programs or websites.

1. Office equipment including telephone scanner computer printer etc.

Special Skills:

1. Project management skills with an ability tobalance multiple competing demands.

1. Good communicationand leadership abilities.

1. Confident and clear verbal communication skillsare neededto successfully listen and communicate with multidisciplinary teams to ease consensus and complete tasks on time.

1. Ability to learn new engineering software and design standards and integrate them directly into current project needs.

1. Dependable confident action oriented initiative-taker with a sense of integrity and activelycontributesto building and expanding consultancy services.
