The Student Success Center at the College of Natural Resources (CNR) is the place to go for student inquiries. The Center offers confidential advising and related services to help students choose and achieve their academic and career goals. It also promotes exceptional classroom performance and out-of-class preparation. The person in this position will become an expert in academic programs and offerings. They will support all faculty and staff in various capacities from advising to processing class substitutions and waivers.

Utilize independent judgement regarding development implementation and evaluation of advising efforts.
Student Academic Advising
Help students determine educational programs consistent with their interests and abilities.
Assist students in understanding their program requirements.
Help students connect with academic and support resources.
Support the Academic and Career Advising Center and faculty members with their advising questions for CNR students.
Career preparation and guidance
Help students understand extra-curricular opportunities that align with their intended career goals.
Provide guidance to students with questions about resumes cover letters natural resources job search resources etc.
Transfer Program
Assist with transfer agreements and guide partner institutions.
Develop
CNR-specific programming for transfer students to ensure a smooth transition to UWSP and CNR.
Provide informational sessions support and one-on-one advising for CNR transfer students.
Advise potential transfer students with respect to course transfers
Identify program needs contribute to the development of workflow schedules and logistics; secure resources for meetings and events.
NRES 101 Support work with SSC Coordinator to provide educational opportunities.
Academic paperwork efficiently process substitutions waivers course repeats credit overloads etc.
College Support
Focus on retention activities/events and assist with other college events as needed

Bachelors degree in any relevant field in post-secondary education natural resources OR equivalent combination of education and experience
