Job Summary
We are looking for an accomplished and motivated Senior Staff Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Staff Engineer you will own the technical design for projects of large complexity and must understand and articulate the tradeoffs in creating good software. You consistently write high-quality code with an awareness of industry best practices and trends. You must have demonstrated experience building complex systems debugging them effectively and maintaining project plans documentation and backlogs. You must work well with a team and understand that ownership extends into operational production support of your code.

This is a remote position and you will report to the Sr. Director of Engineering.
Youll have opportunity to:
- Set short to medium-term (3-6 months) strategic technical direction in partnership with Product determine technical requirements for new applications services and integrations and draft a plan to incrementally deliver.
- You will work closely with customers and partners to understand their use-cases anticipate their needs and unblock integrations.
- Participate in an agile development cycle write documentation perform code reviews mentor others and be part of the production on-call rotation.
- Design and implement scalable resilient services with observability metrics for production performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Participate in team ownership and accountability for the support of production cloud services and contribute to streamlining incident handling processes.
- Work with a team of engineers who love learning experimenting and pushing the limits.

Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 8 years of experience in developing cloud based applications in Python Java and Javascript or similar languages
- Strong knowledge of the AWS platform
- Experience in designing and developing AWS Lambda functions.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON or similar.
- Experience automating software deployments to AWS and comfortable defining infrastructure as code.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Familiarity with the following or similar tools and methodologies: Github Github Actions Terraform Cloud Datadog Jira and Agile methodologies.
- Strong debugging experience.
- Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners.
- BONUS: First-hand experience writing mobile applications for Android & iOS and the React Native framework.
Functional Expertise:
- You can develop software in Java JavaScript and Python and understand the theoretical concepts of the language and how to write well-documented well-tested code.
- You have significant experience with AWS and their breadth of services including compute database and storage focusing on analytics technologies.
- You have experience automating software deployments to AWS and are comfortable defining infrastructure as code.
- You have a track record of creating improvements in business-critical systems around stability performance cost and scalability in AWS.
- You can own large-sized features from technical design through deployment in production.
