The successful candidate will play a key part in payroll oversight benefits administration and variable remuneration processes within a listed company environment.
About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Remuneration Specialist with strong payroll staff benefits and incentive scheme expertise. The role will also support share scheme administration and year-end audit processes requiring excellent attention to detail and strong stakeholder engagement across the business.
Requirements and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Review and provide backup support for monthly payroll processing including statutory returns and travel/claim reimbursements
- Manage staff benefit administration (Medical Aid Provident Fund Admedgap)
- Maintain leave administration systems and perform annual leave provision valuations
- Prepare information for annual remuneration reviews including communication of review letters and ROTs
- Liaise with managers and support documentation for Remuneration Committee meetings
- Reconcile annual variable remuneration and manage accounting for staff share schemes
- Administer employee trust and deferred remuneration schemes including IFRS 2 disclosure data preparation
- Maintain staff shareholding registers and vesting schedules
- Support quarterly SDL provision revaluations
- Liaise with auditors during year-end processes
Ideal Experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in a South African listed company (or servicing listed clients)
- Strong background in payroll and incentive scheme administration
- Experience in remuneration review cycles and share scheme processes
Qualifications & Systems
- Accounting qualification (BCom or similar)
- Proficiency in Sage VIP Intacct and advanced Excel
- Shareforce experience is a strong advantage
