The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national peak body representing 148 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs). ACCHOs deliver comprehensive primary health care to more than half of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationally.
About the Role
The Assistant Director is responsible for managing the Emerging Leaders Governance & Executive Leadership Training and Support Program which includes developing governance resources and training materials for the sector delivering a series of governance workshops in collaboration with state and territory affiliates NACCHO staff and pro bono lawyers and overseeing a residential program for emerging leaders that is delivered by an external specialist provider.
Responsibilities of this role but not limited to:
- Prepare progress reports briefings and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage project operations including scheduling workshops and meetings coordinating travel and venues preparing materials and minutes and handling invitations and communications.
- Coordinate the Health Sector Strengthening & Emerging Leaders Governance Training and Support Project ensuring all components are delivered effectively on time and within budget.
About You
To succeed in this role you will bring:
- Qualification in governance or equivalent is desirable
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is highly desirable
- Five years experience working in governance and/or leadership development preferably in the ACCHO sector
