Role : Functional Business Analyst with utilities domain

Position Overview
Acts as a critical link between business stakeholders and technical teams driving operational efficiency by translating complex utility requirements (e.g. CIS AMI grid management) into functional specifications. This role involves leading requirements gathering conducting gap analysis and overseeing solution implementation for energy water or waste utility projects.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Leadership: Lead the gathering and analysis of complex business requirements creating detailed Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) functional specifications and user stories.
Utility Domain Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on utility-specific processes such as customer billing metering smart grid technologies or rate modeling.
Process Optimization: Map existing business processes perform gap analysis and identify opportunities for technology-driven improvement or automation.
Stakeholder Management: Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals scope and business impact.
System Testing & Validation: Collaborate with developers and QA teams to validate technical solutions against functional requirements.
Project Leadership: Supervise team members in the documentation and analysis of features user stories and acceptance criteria in Agile environments.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- At least 10 years of experience as Business analyst with expertise in utilities domain and atleast 5 years experience as a Lead BA
- Experience of delivering at least 3/4 utilities projects from concept to completion as a Lead BA
- Domain Expertise: Proven experience in the utilities industry (Electric Water Gas).
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of CRM Billing Systems (CIS) or GIS/Asset Management systems with familiarity in data modeling and SQL.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze large complex utility datasets and translate them into actionable business insights.
- Documentation Skills: Expert-level skills in creating user stories functional specs and process flows.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration Data Analytics Information Systems or related field
