As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banks Global Banking Tech Team you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Execute software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

• Create secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems

• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development

• Gather analyzes synthesizes and develops visualizations and reporting from large diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems

• Identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture

• Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications capabilities and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3 yearsapplied experience

• Hands-on experience across Java/J2EE Spring ecosystem MongoDB Kafka and React

• 8 years of professional software development experience with 4 years in senior/lead roles

• Proven track record delivering complex distributed production-grade systems at scale

• Strong communication and stakeholder management; ability to lead design reviews and mentor engineers

• Microservices and event-driven architectures; API-first design; domain-driven design (DDD)

• Caching strategies (in-memory Redis) connection pooling resource governance

• Throughput/latency improvements: zero-copy patterns batching reactive/non-blocking I/O

• Capacity planning and performance budgets; load testing (JMeter/Gatling) and regression baselines

• Stakeholder engagement: translating business needs into technical outcomes and KPIs

• Clear executive-ready communication: risk trade-offs dependency management deliverable planning

Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies

• Experience with Camunda Apache Camel

• Exposure to cloud technologies

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent practical experience
