Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Project Developer the Project Developer is responsible for growing and maintaining the development of a portfolio of projects from site identification screening land security and early stage planning processes priming a project in readiness for clear and continued investment.
Key Responsibilities
Grow knowledge of and implement an understanding of the development process by contributing to project planning budgeting and risk management.
Grow knowledge of and implement an understanding of technical processes in order to communicate concepts and explain assessment outcomes to project stakeholders.
Originate the compilation of site data including topographic and cadastral data site constraints property schedule residence matrix and stakeholder management plan.
Work with members of the technical team to develop layouts throughout the development process.
Originate consultation with landowners negotiation of landowner agreements legal dealings and other correspondence as and where relevant maintain a continued role throughout the development process.
Management of external consultants to undertake feasibility studies.
Originate the stakeholder consultation process with local and/or State planning authorities other regulators general public landowners and other stakeholders and where relevant maintain a continued role throughout the development process.
Support the production of Environmental Impact Statement documents Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation referrals and any other statutory applications for project development.
Conduct site visits to consult with project stakeholders assist in on-site studies where inspect monitoring equipment as required and escort clients and contractors around sites.
Work together with members of the technical team to support the connection process.
Grow and maintain knowledge of the planning and permitting processes within the State of operation.
Grow and maintain knowledge of energy policy development attend industry conferences where relevant or and review relevant media articles.
Train other members of the development team in aspects of development.
Contribute to the continual improvement of internal processes including but not limited to maintenance and currency of development work instructions.
Undertake and participate in all Squadron Energy standard processes including but not limited to administrative requirements associated with time keeping and expenses accounting contribution to cash-flow reporting attendance to company events and training requirements.
Provide project updates to the Head of Project Origination as required.
General Responsibilities
Health safety and environment
Comply with all workplace health safety and environmental obligations and report any incidents hazards and accidents to the safety and environment team.
Administration
Ensure all documentation is stored and recorded on the Squadron Energy document management system.
Reporting
Ensure that issues and risks are escalated/reported to management in a timely manner.
Financial
Adhere to Squadron Energy and project procedures for purchasing and expenditure in compliance with approved budgets.
Stakeholders
Maintain a professional relationship with all project Stakeholders.
Company
Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with Squadron Energys employee policies and standards.
Skills and experience
Experience and knowledge
Relevant experience (3-5 years) in a similar position working in the renewable energy sector is preferred.
Knowledge of property law and experience liaising with landholder legal representatives is an advantage.
Development experience within complex infrastructure projects including transmission road rail pipelines will be well regarded.
Proven ability to negotiate contracts for procurement professional services and landholder with a focus on risk management and value exchange.
A self-starter with high energy levels tenacity initiative and a willingness to commit whatever it takes to deliver the required results.
A willingness to create change support the communities in which we operate and deliver on our investment objectives.
Skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
Strong interpersonal skills including liaison and negotiation skills.
High-level organisation skills including well-developed priority-setting skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to undertake extensive domestic travel to project locations in rural and regional Australia.
Computer literacy and strong competence with the Microsoft 365 suite of software.
Qualifications
A tertiary qualification in spatial science environmental science engineering planning project management property agricultural related discipline or similar
Current drivers licence.
