We are currently seeking a reliable energetic and detail-oriented New Car Porter to join our growing team and help maintain the appearance and organization of our new vehicle inventory.
Position Overview
The New Car Porter is responsible for the management organization and care of our new Ford and Lincoln inventory. You will be the keeper of the lot ensuring that all vehicles are displayed correctly fueled clean and ready for customer presentation. This is a physically active role that requires working outdoors in all Michigan weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management: Organize and arrange new vehicles on the lot according to dealership standards to maximize display appearance.
Vehicle Intake: Inspect new vehicles upon delivery from the manufacturer for shipping damage or imperfections and tag keys/vehicles for stock.
Lot Maintenance: Keep the car lot neat and orderly; this includes moving vehicles to clear snow in the winter and keeping display areas free of debris.
Customer Delivery Prep: Ensure sold vehicles are fueled washed and plated before the customer arrives for pickup.
General Support: Assist the Sales Department with errands such as moving cars for test drives or taking vehicles to the service lane for accessory installation.
Asset Protection: Ensure all vehicles are locked and secured at the end of the business day.
Qualifications
Drivers License: Must possess a valid Michigan Drivers License with a clean driving record (no major violations or suspensions).
Driving Skills: Ability to drive various types of vehicles (sedans trucks SUVs) safely. Ability to drive a manual transmission is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat rain and snow).
Physical ability to clear snow from vehicles during winter months.
Attributes: Punctual reliable and able to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
