About the role

As a Senior Travelling Stock Reserve Ranger (LSO) youll deliver on the ground services projects and activities to care for and protect TSRs in the Northern Tablelands region. You will be working closely with a high performing and tight knit team who are passionate about the work they do.

We are looking for an individual who can confidently:

  • Monitor compliance and undertake regulatory duties across the region
  • Manage projects and implement plans and activities that ensure the regions Travelling Stock Reserves are used sustainably and are maintained in accordance with legislative obligations
  • Collect and collate data analyse information and provide accurate and appropriately balanced advice reports and recommendations on the use and condition of Travelling Stock Reserves
  • Provide advice on opportunities to create additional revenue generating activities and increase accessibility to travelling stock reserves and implement regional plans related to travelling stock reserve uses including leading competitive processes to source and secure commercial arrangements issue permits and maintain relationships with lessees and permit holders to ensure contractual compliance
  • Undertake assessments of travelling stock reserve conservation values and provide advice on and implement appropriate actions to maintain and/or improve conservation values
  • Ensure that travelling stock reserves are maintained in readiness to support emergency management and control of livestock during natural disaster events and participate in other LLS emergency management prevention preparedness response and recovery activities

About You

To be successful in this role our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Have experience in a previous compliance role
  • An ability to engage with landholders clients and stakeholders build rapport and deliver successful outcomes across the business unit
  • Be self-motivated capable of working independently while being a strong team contributor
  • An understanding and appreciation of rural issues and challenges
  • Possess excellent verbal written and computer abilities to meet reporting requirements as well as high level communication and negotiation skills. Previous experience with finance and managing budgets would be a bonus!
