Director ING Acquisition Finance
The Structured Acquisition Finance (SAF) team at ING Business Banking is seeking a Director to strengthen our marketleading leveraged finance franchise in the Netherlands.
Structured Acquisition Finance supports financial sponsors in the origination structuring and execution of complex leveraged buyout financings. As a Director at Structured Acquisition Finance Mid Corporates (SAF MC) you work in a team of 20 professional specialists. Youll be a contributing member in the SAF MT and together with SAF SME and SAF Portfolio Management set out the strategic direction of SAF within ING Business Banking. You are the point of contact for senior counterparts at our Private Equity customers and responsible for identifying and originating new and visible buy-out financing transactions. We are customer-oriented and our goal is to always exceed our customers expectations to be the First Bank to Call.
This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional with preferable a broad background in leveraged buyout situations to contribute in a highperforming dealdriven team that values collaboration analytical excellence and strong leadership in demanding processes.
Your Role
As Director you will be a senior sparring partner for leading private equity firms shaping the financing dialogue at a high strategic level. You will drive origination of new leveraged finance opportunities lead deal execution endtoend and play a key role in INGs sponsor coverage strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Origination leadership:
- Identify and drive new origination with core and target private equity clients combining INGs product offering across SAF Corporate Investments Corporate Finance Lease Comfin Financial Markets and other offerings
- Build and expand strategic sponsor relationships positioning ING as a trusted partner on financing solutions
- Maintain relationships with partnership funds that SAF can team up with in its financing solutions.
- Close collaboration with Financial Sponsor Group on sponsor coverage.
- Deal execution leadership:
- Lead multidisciplinary deal teams across all lending products including Risk and Legal and with look-out for cross-sell opportunities with the other divisions in Business Banking.
- Oversee due diligence financial analysis internal approvals documentation negotiation and closing of transactions.
- Strong project management skills by ensuring flawless execution in a fastpaced competitive processes.
- SAF BB management role:
- Be a contributing member in the SAF MT and together with SAF SME and SAF Portfolio Management set out SAFs strategic direction.
- Monitor sponsor activity market trends and competitive dynamics to position ING for continued market leadership.
- Shape SAFs origination agenda and strategic initiatives.
- Align with the Horizon 28 mission including customer promises and Bold Moves for the SAF BB team.
- Coaching & team development:
- Mentor and develop your own sub-team fostering a highperformance learningdriven culture with eye for team well-being;
- Set standards for commercial thinking cross sell opportunities efficiency gains and process discipline;
Who We Are Looking For
A highly driven and commercially strong senior finance professional with:
- 10 years of relevant experience in Acquisition Finance Leveraged Finance Private Equity Corporate Finance Structured Finance or related roles.
- Strong and proven track record in origination with visible success in building sponsor relationships and winning mandates through idea generation
- Excellent stakeholder management skills able to guide and challenge both internal and external senior counterparts.
- Strong communication and presentation skills fluent (written and spoken) in Dutch and English;
