CVC DIF the infrastructure strategy of leading global private markets manager CVC is the majority shareholder in Low Carbon. Working alongside MassMutual CVC DIF will enable Low Carbon to significantly expand its installed capacity and drive the next stage of growth as a diversified leading next-generation IPP.

Role description

We are looking for an experienced GIS specialist (m/f/d) for renewable energies who will take on responsibility for planning and optimising our ground-mounted photovoltaic onshore wind energy and energy storage projects and leads. We are looking for an interface between our land scouts and the PDM team to advance the realisation of our renewable energy projects.

The workplace is in Berlin.

Responsibilities

  • Restriction testing of potential areas for renewable energy
  • Visualisation of project data in maps and reports
  • White space analyses of federal states according to various specifications
  • Creating and editing maps
  • Support for urban land-use planning in development plan procedures
  • Close cooperation with the project development team to support the smooth implementation of our renewable energy projects
  • Creation maintenance and evaluation of geodata for wind energy projects
  • Carrying out site and area analyses (e.g. clearance areas restrictions suitable areas and compensation areas)
  • Analysis and evaluation of regional plans (e.g. land use plans regional plans RROP) to identify potential wind energy sites
  • Derivation and documentation of possible project development approaches and project leads based on planning law requirements
  • Internal documentation of projects

Skills and experience

  • Degree in geology geography landscape planning or a comparable field
  • Knowledge in the field of spatial planning/landscape planning
  • Confident use of ArcGIS Pro or comparable software
  • Knowledge of database queries (PostgreSQL/PostGIS) is desirable
  • You are communicative a team player work in a structured manner and can react flexibly and quickly to changing problems
  • You are interested in renewable energies nature and the environment
  • Structured independent and service-oriented approach to work
  • Strong team and communication skills
  • Very good German skills good English skills are an advantage
