Grants & Finance Intern Level II (Applied Learning Internship)Position OverviewBrockton Public Schools is seeking a Level II Grants & Finance Intern to support financial and grant-related operations within a public-sector environment. This applied internship is designed for students pursuing Finance Accounting Public Administration Public Policy Business Administration or a related field and is appropriate for college credit or practicum placement where is a hands-on role intended for interns who are ready to move beyond observation and begin applying academic knowledge to real-world financial systems and Focus & Applied ExperienceThe Level II Intern will gain exposure to:Public-sector financial systems and workflowsGrant budgeting tracking and compliance practicesFinancial documentation reconciliation and reportingInternal controls confidentiality standards and professional ethicsHow finance and grants operate within a school district and municipal frameworkKey ResponsibilitiesAssist with the preparation review and organization of financial and grant-related documentationSupport basic budget tracking data entry and reconciliation activities under supervisionLearn and apply district financial systems and internal proceduresMaintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling financial informationSupport grant monitoring reporting preparation and audit readiness activitiesComplete assigned projects that reinforce academic learning through applied practiceExpectationsReport to work on time with a professional positive attitude and readiness to actively contributeDemonstrate strong attention to detail organization and follow-throughShow initiative curiosity and a willingness to learn and apply new systems and processesBe receptive to feedback and able to grow in independence over the course of the internshipPreferred QualificationsCurrent enrollment in or recent completion of coursework in Finance Accounting Public Administration Business Economics or a related fieldInterest in public-sector finance education systems or government operationsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic data management tools preferredAdditional InformationThis position may be eligible for college credit depending on the students academic programGrant-funded position with a defined termHours: Up to 20 hours per week Rate: $23/hourly
