A fast-scaling CFTC-regulated exchange is hiring a Market Operations Specialist to provide advanced operational and technical support across trading and clearing workflows.

About the Role

The Market Operations Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the stability integrity and efficiency of a live trading environment. This individual partners closely with engineering and compliance teams while directly supporting institutional participants.

This role requires a technically fluent highly resourceful operator who can diagnose and resolve complex issues in high-visibility time-sensitive situations.

What Youll Do

• Develop deep expertise in trading systems and connectivity protocols
• Provide front- and mid-office operational support to institutional trading participants
• Monitor system integrity and control the live trading environment
• Escalate and coordinate system issues with engineering teams
• Maintain contract specifications trading parameters and settlement rules
• Perform log analysis and latency diagnostics to resolve execution issues
• Oversee daily settlement workflows and cash movement processes
• Reconcile trades collateral and contract settlements
• Manage the end-to-end clearing lifecycle (positions margin collateral delivery)
• Maintain and enhance technical documentation (e.g. FIX specifications connectivity guides)
• Develop automation tools to streamline operational processes
• Partner cross-functionally with Technology Compliance Product QA and Regulatory teams

What Youll Bring

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• 5 years in exchange operations trade support clearing operations or trading systems engineering
• Strong understanding of electronic trading systems and matching engine mechanics
• Experience with FIX Protocol
• Python or SQL experience for data analysis and automation
• Proven experience supporting electronic trading in exchange broker-dealer or quantitative environments
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Availability for event-driven schedules and on-call coverage

Preferred

• Experience supporting exchange-listed derivatives trading and clearing
• Experience querying large datasets
• Familiarity with workflow automation platforms
