About the Role
Make a real impact as a Academic Mentor
Are you a patient resilient and experienced tutorwho can build strong relationships with young people We are looking for a dedicated 1:1 mentor to support a secondary students.
This role is about more than academic support. Youll use your GCSE Maths expertise to help the students build confidence re-engage with learning and work towards their qualifications while providing consistent supportive mentoring. Were looking for someone who is calm reliable and able to adapt their approach to meet individuals needs whilst creating a safe and motivating learning environment.
Job Title: KS3 GCSE and A Level Tutors
Location: Hackney
Days/Times: During school hours
Rate: between 30-35 per hour
Requirements
Were looking for someone who has:
- A Bachelors degree
- 1 years of tutoring / teaching experience
- Experience working with students with SEN and/or SEMH needs (preferred)
- An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The right to be self employed in the UK
What Youll Do
- Develop and deliver tuition programmes in small groups or 1:1
- Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individuals/groups needs and study level
- Assessing any barriers to students learning and working to overcome these
- Monitoring student progress and producing reports
- Creating a positive and supportive learning environment
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks youre providing subject tuition in
- Regularly reporting updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager
