We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Learning Designer to be part of our team at Education Centre of Australia in our Melbourne office.

The role will involve working across ECAs higher education institutions: the Asia Pacific International College (APIC) the Higher Education Leadership Institute (HELI) and the College of Health Sciences (CHS).

As a key member of the Digital Development & Instructional Design team you will be responsible for the design development and continuous improvement of high-quality higher education courses. The role works closely with academics subject matter experts and student support teams to create engaging accessible and pedagogically sound learning experiences delivered through online and blended formats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with academics and subject matter experts to design and develop higher education courses aligned with learning outcomes and accreditation requirements.
  • Apply instructional design principles and learning theory to create engaging student-centred learning experiences.
  • Build course content including learning activities assessments rubrics and multimedia learning assets.
  • Proofread and edit learning materials to ensure accuracy clarity consistency and quality.
  • Ensure courses meet accessibility standards and inclusive learning best practices.
  • Review existing courses to ensure consistency usability and accessibility and recommend improvements based on user feedback analytics and educational best practice.
  • Manage multiple projects/tasks while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Contribute to other development tasks as designated by the Director of Digital Development & Instructional Design.

As the successful candidate you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Education Instructional Design Learning Design or a related field.

Demonstrated experience:

  • Designing learning content and assessment in a higher education context.
  • Building courses in a learning management system preferably Canvas.
  • Sound knowledge of best practices in instructional/digital design/design models (e.g. ADDIE constructive alignment backward design).
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear learner-friendly content.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written English.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong proofreading and editing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members academics and operational staff.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with content authoring tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline).
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
  • Experience in course evaluation methods and leveraging learning analytics to optimise course design.
  • An understanding of academic integrity.
