Job Summary
CAD Drafter (SolidWorks)
Monday - Friday 6AM-2:30PM
Pay rate range: $40-$46
Minimum experience: 3-5 years
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter with strong SolidWorks experience to create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models in support of engineering manufacturing and project teams. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of drafting standards mechanical design principles and the ability to translate concepts and specifications into clear technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
Create and revise 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks
Prepare detailed part assembly and production drawings
Apply GD&T and drafting standards to ensure accuracy and consistency
Collaborate with engineers designers and project managers to interpret design requirements
Update drawings based on engineering changes and redlines
Maintain organized CAD files and documentation per company standards
Support manufacturing or fabrication teams with technical drawings and revisions
Perform basic design calculations and material specifications as needed
Required Qualifications
Associate degree or certificate in CAD Drafting Engineering Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
5 years of professional CAD drafting experience
Proficiency in SolidWorks (parts assemblies and drawings)
Strong understanding of mechanical drafting standards and practices
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
High attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with sheet metal weldments or surfacing in SolidWorks
Familiarity with PDM systems
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Experience with additional CAD software (AutoCAD Inventor etc.)
