- Main Responsibilities:
- Design develop and revise distribution standards and special designs that meet all requirements of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
- Develop and maintain all standards related to M-drawings H-drawings Construction Standards Special Designs and Tampa Electric (TEMS) drawings
- Provide timely drafting updates to distribution engineering and other internal customers as needed
- Update and maintain the approved materials catalogue (AMC)
- Prepare and meet deadlines for monthly Standard Practice Committee Meetings (SPCM). Complete all drafting requirements for the above on a monthly basis.
- Proofs engineers and technicians work for correct construction designs
- Must-Have vs. Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Must Have
- CAD and/or MicroStation
- Organizational skills
- Detailed oriented will help with peer review of the designs
- Time management
- Technical writing
- Engineering Degree
- Nice to have
- Utility experience (2-4 years)

- Typical Day-to-Day Tasks:
- Checking in with the Standards Supervisor to review and prioritize tasks
- Revise and maintain various distribution standards documents and drawings
- Attend meetings as needed (Monthly SPCM weekly standards meetings)
- Tools / Technologies Required:
CAD and/or MicroStation
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Will have to collaborate with distribution engineering asset management safety training transmission engineering meter department procurement and various other internal TECO teams.
