Job Summary
GAI Consultants Inc. is seeking an Associate CAD Operator also known as a Transmission Designer/Drafter. This position is eligible for GAIs flexible Hybrid workplace place/Telework Policy and will report to the Orlando FL office three times a week. The ideal candidate has good analytical thinking problem-solving techniques computer-aided drafting (CAD) experience and excellent communication skills.
Essential Job Duties:
- Design transmission lines including drawing preparation bill of materials development material ordering and developing PLS-CADD models.
- Follow local utility and construction standards.
- Ability to learn retain and apply on the job training and use design software packages efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively in design teams.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be flexible to handle shifting deadlines and scope changes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education
- Associate Degree from an accredited Technical School
Technical Responsibilities
- Basic 2-D line work and text edits in AuotCAD. Plot and create PDF drawings. Perform red-line edits.âFollows basic QA/QC procedures. Assist with general office function such as printing and folding drawings
- Learn and utilize PLS-CADD to design transmission lines under the guidance of engineers.
Project and Task Management
- Responsible for personal task management and adherence toâdeadlines and scope
Management Responsibility
- No Management responsibilities
- Close supervision on work assignments
Communication Skills
- Possess basic oral and written communication skills. interacts effectively with other staff. Learns to master and accurately follow instructions from others
