Our client a well-established leader in theindustry is seeking the services of a suitably qualified Technical Services Supervisor to be based in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will support advise and assist the Generator department by providing technical and engineering expertise across quotations factory solutions site installations commissioning upgrades and project management. This opportunity offers exposure to complex power generation projects and the ability to grow within a reputable organisation.
In order to be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:
Matric
Tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical Trade Certification with experience in generator controls and synchronised systems
MV courses and switching will be advantageous
Minimum 5 years experience involving engineering assistance within the generation integration and electrical infrastructure industry
Minimum 5 years practical experience in electrical design execution and commissioning of integrated power generation solutions
Broad knowledge of generator controllers
Proficient in MS Office MS Project and design software
Valid Code 8 drivers licence
Valid passport
Willingness to travel locally and internationally and work extended hours when required
Key Responsibilities (not limited to):
Supporting Projects and Product departments with technical and operational requirements at project inception
Conducting site inspections audits and engaging with consulting engineers on LV and MV applications
Assisting with conceptual mechanical and electrical design solutions
Evaluating engine and alternator scope of supply including synchronisation and AVR systems
Checking and counter-signing tenders and quotations and ensuring compliance with commercial and technical terms
Leading technicians electricians and installation teams during installation and commissioning
Participating in FAT processes and ensuring compliance with approved designs
Providing telephonic and on-site technical support fault finding and repairs
Managing warranty claims and reporting on faulty generator sets
Initiating project kick-offs and ensuring installations meet company standards
Liaising with customers and internal departments including SHEQ and Engineering
Training customers and supporting the development of the Field Services team
Supporting inventory planning and control
