Proposals Engineer JHB

An established organisation within the electrical engineering sector is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Proposal Engineer. The successful incumbent will be responsible for compiling competitive technical and commercial proposals and supporting the design of integrated solutions across a broad product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

Compile quotations across the automation product range including E-Houses container substations Motor Control Centres (MCCs) and Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear together with associated ancillary equipment.
Assess customer enquiries and prepare technical and commercial proposals aligned with specifications and commercial requirements.
Ensure timely submission of tender documentation including schedules datasheets deviations clarifications exclusions and defined battery limits.
Develop cost-effective offers incorporating pre-negotiated supplier pricing and proposing technically sound alternatives where applicable.
Participate in quotation analysis meetings and customer clarification engagements.
Collaborate with Engineering Projects Legal and Sales teams to enhance bid effectiveness.
Conduct formal handovers to execution teams upon order award.
Complete Commercial Risk Evaluations (CREs) and recommend mitigation measures during the tender phase.
Provide technical and commercial sign-off on quotations.
Perform pre- and post-order engineering design activities including General Arrangements (GAs) Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and layout drawings.
Attend site and client progress meetings as required.
Contribute to continuous improvement of costing models datasheets systems and departmental processes.
Ensure adherence to ISO requirements company procedures and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

Matric.
Electrical National Diploma or equivalent qualification.
35 years experience in packaged switchgear solutions (MV and LV).
Sound understanding of low voltage systems (up to 1000V) and medium voltage systems (up to 33kV).
Proficiency in MS Office
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
