Job Summary:

Customer Service Representatives are an integral part of the Recreation Division with the City of Greeley and are responsible for providing quality customer service to patrons of the Greeley Recreation facilities. This position oversees entry desk operations and is responsible for assisting with the oversight training and scheduling of part-time/seasonal employees. Customer Service Representatives provide information to patrons regarding Greeley Recreation facilities programs services and events. These positions must also process activity registrations memberships facility/park shelter rentals and point of sale transactions.

Experience Knowledge Skills:

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years experiencegeneral business office experience with heavy public contact including one year of customer serviceexperience.

Preferred

  • Spanish/English bilingual skills.
  • Basic experience and knowledge of computer operations and use Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Outlook Excel Word and PowerPoint Experiencewith RecTrac.
  • Demonstrated skill in performing 10-key calculations efficiently.
  • Demonstrated experience in entering data using a keyboard and automated accounting system and using spreadsheet and word processing applications.
  • Prior cash handling experience.

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational interpersonal and time managementskills.
  • High level of detail and accuracy/quality assurance.

Essential Functions:

  • Communicates effectively in one-on-one settings using the telephone andverbally.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with citizens andemployees.
  • Handles sensitive and confidential information with tact anddiplomacy.
  • Accurately and efficiently enters information into the computer viakeyboard.
  • Greets the public and provides clear and accurateinformation.
  • Collects fees charges credit accounts correctly and provides accuratereceipts.
  • Reads writes and performs basic mathematicskills.
  • Operates standard officeequipment.
  • Works independently and sets priorities for work assignments while managing competingpriorities.
  • Works under pressure and with constant interruptions while accomplishing a heavyworkload.
  • Delivers a high degree of customer service bygreeting all patrons in a timely manner; inquiring where and what they are doingin the facility to ensure safety; answering and properly directing phonecalls.
  • Uses and develops Excel spreadsheets desired to track and orderinventory.

Work Environment

  • Frequent and heavy contact with public and employees in person and via email/telephone sometimes facing adverse or confrontational situations with internal/external customers; occasional confrontation with public/participants for enforcement of buildingrules.
  • Work is performed in an open office environment with noise levels excessive attimes.
  • Must be available to work occasional weekends and/or holidays as required by shift assignment orrequested bysupervisor.
  • Employee is subject to working alone and/or with groups and/or attendsmeetings.
  • Employee may be required to conduct business in alternate locations within City buildings or field sites sometimes in formalsettings.
  • Employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions--as in typical office or administrative work; work performed issedentary.
  • Requires ability to manage competing priorities with frequentinterruptions.
  • Employee is subject to driving City vehicle in all weatherconditions.
  • Work environment is safe to having minimal hazards typically found in an officeenvironment.

Physical Requirement

  • Communication skills enough to convey information verbally in writing and ontelephone.
  • The essential functions of this job requirefrequent hearingand repetitive motion; continuously sitting and talking; and occasionalcarrying/lifting lightobjects (25lbs)crouching feeling fingeringreaching standing andwalking.
  • Mobility enough to stand sit and move within a confined workarea.
  • Vision enough to read computer screens and written documents to assist the public and complete workassignments.
  • Employee is required to have visual acuity for close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjustfocus.
