The role
As a Senior Compliance Officer youll have the opportunity to work on State Significant Projects across NSW directly contributing to regulatory oversight and environmental governance within the Department of Planning Housing & Infrastructure (NSW Planning). In this dynamic role youll engage with complex compliance matters ensuring best practices are followed while collaborating with key stakeholders to achieve optimal project outcomes.

What you will bring to the role
- Strong investigative skills to conduct high-quality regulatory investigations into alleged breaches across State Significant infrastructure and Development projects including roads rail mines quarries housing and energy developments.
- Attention to detail and technical expertise to undertake inspections of complex projects ensuring compliance with approval conditions and enforcing regulatory action when necessary.
- Analytical and reporting abilities to review monitoring reports and other compliance documentation submitted by proponents in accordance with consent conditions.
- Stakeholder engagement skills to collaborate effectively with government agencies industry proponents environmental groups and the community fostering positive compliance outcomes.
- Problem-solving and responsiveness to address complaints related to State Significant projects providing clear and effective resolutions while upholding regulatory standards.
- Your ability to navigate high-profile projects enforce compliance measures and work across diverse sectors will make a tangible impact in ensuring best-practice environmental management and regulatory integrity across NSW.
What is an essential requirement:
- Degree in law planning environmental management engineering or other relevant discipline
- Willingness to travel and (minimum) Class C Drivers Licence
