About the Opportunity:
We invite applications from qualified candidates for a full-time on-site non-tenure-track (NTT) Assistant Teaching Professor position in the Department of Biologys Cell and Gene Therapy Program part of the College of Science at Northeastern Universitys Boston campus. This position offers opportunities for career advancement and involves full-time teaching in the Cell and Gene Therapy Masters Program.
The successful candidate will have the expertise to develop new courses and teach graduate-level courses in Cell and Gene Therapy including cell and gene therapy lab gene editing gene augmentation CRISPR technologies immunotherapy and CAR-T cell therapy designed to provide advanced scientific training while preparing students for highly valued professional careers.
Responsibilities:
The Assistant Teaching Professor is expected to teach five units and provide one unit of service per academic year in the Cell and Gene Therapy Program. The role will contribute to growing enrollment in the Masters program develop new courses mentorship of students and collaborate with the Program Director and the Deans Office to expand the range of concentrations and modalities offered. Teaching responsibilities may be adjusted based on program needs and at the discretion of the Director of the Cell and Gene Therapy Programs in consideration of service commitments.
This position emphasizes the integration of professional practice into the classroom with a particular focus on the Cell and Gene Therapy landscape in biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries including hands-on exposure to experimental skills in gene editing gene augmentation CRISPR technologies immunotherapy and CAR-T cell therapy.
Teaching responsibilities include:
Reviewing and learning key teaching points within existing instructor guides and preparing lectures based on provided course materials.
Effectively facilitating rich respectful discussions and debates in in-person or online classes.
Timely review and grading of assignments with appropriate coaching and feedback to students.
Maintaining consistent engagement with students and monitoring their performance.
Adhering to Northeastern University policies and maintaining high-quality teaching standards.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in the biological sciences or a closely related discipline prior to the start of the appointment and demonstrate excellence in teaching communication collaboration course development and leadership. The position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work productively with students faculty staff and industry partners.
Industrial experience in the cell and gene therapy sectors is desirable but not required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in Cell and Gene therapy sector teaching Cell and Gene Therapy courses particularly those emphasizing practical research skills and laboratory exercises that integrate gene editing gene augmentation CRISPR technologies immunotherapy CAR-T cell therapy and other advanced experimental research techniques.

Pay Range:
Assistant Teaching Professor: $75000.00 - $85000.00With the pay range(s) shown above the starting salary will depend on several factors which may include your education experience location knowledge and expertise and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
