Detailer Trainee

Basic Job Functions:

As Steel Detailer / BIM Modeler you will be responsible for detailing all components of a custom metal building system including the primary steel framing secondary steel framing wall panel systems roof panel systems and all associated flashings and trims to ensure all components fit together correctly as part of a complete design solution.

The Responsibilities include but not limited to creating:

• Construction anchor bolt drawings
• Permit/approval drawings
• Electronic 3D models of custom-building systems using 3D drafting software
• Shop drawings and reports for in-house fabrication and production teams
• Erection drawings and bill of materials for field construction use

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic math geometry and trigonometry skills
• Experience operating CAD software
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (NUCOR will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum Associates degree or two-year vocational school certification with focus on Architecture Drafting Construction Management or Engineering Technology
• Over one year experience with Tekla Structures or similar 3D modeling software.
• Prior metal building detailing experience
