Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and revise EMR training material

  • Directly provide training auditing services and technical guidance as it relates to quality audits setting and maintaining expectations and education for the team of Chart Acquisition Specialists.

  • Provide specialized training to outsourcing partners internal staff and other domains.

  • Implements reacts responds and accomplishes all things with vigor as it relates to improving the quality and efficiencies of the Chart Resources Department.

  • Monitor and provide oversight of proper HM chart flow to ensure deadlines are met and proper chart volumes are moving throughout the systems.

  • Ongoing training and hands-on skill updates as processes and systems change.

  • Identify analyze and report the ability of the team to complete all tasks that are scheduled daily to keep the chart flow process consistent and meet departmental KPIs.

  • Perform database administration and updates as directed by IT.

  • Provide training and support to new business process systems as necessary.

  • Troubleshoot problems encountered in the workflow process as they pertain to acquisition and other processes.

  • Maintain appropriate and timely record keeping of all required documentation.

  • Support all functions as needed for HM queries indexing and HM acquisition.

  • Participate in all leadership and development offered and required for the role to develop and grow.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Audits

  • Track and maintain acquisition exceptions

  • Assignment Audits

  • Assist with HM acquisition questions

  • Assist with additional duties/projects as requested by management

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment while demonstrating abilities to be a self-starter problem solver and team player.

  • Leadership ability and demonstration of excellent written and communication skills consistently with co-workers facility personnel and management.

  • Proven organizational capabilities with the ability to multi-task and demonstrate exceptional time management skills committed to tracking deadlines and meeting goals.

  • Proficient knowledge of Hospital Medicine chart components.

EDUCATION (Preferred):

  • Associate Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

FIELD OF STUDY (Preferred):

  • Healthcare Administration Business Administration

WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience using Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook

  • Experience using SCP Chart Receiver

  • Experience using OnBase

  • Knowledge of Athena IDX (preferred but not required)

  • Experience of mySCP Care

CONTACTS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE ORGANIZATION:

  • Daily contact with internal RCS clients and vendors

  • Frequent contact with department leadership coding HM Ops facility help desk and HIT team

  • Intermittent contact with PreBill Directors

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Professional setting continuous sitting continuous oral & written communication and listening skills

  • Continuous computer use

  • Job requires a high level of mental awareness

PRIMARY LOCATION:

  • Lafayette LA

Pay Range:

$15.30 - $22.95

This range represents the anticipated base salary for this role. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience qualifications and internal equity considerations.
